HHWC is Back!

This spring, Eric Huang and his teaching assistant Xiao Mao brought new energy to HHWC by launching a vibrant 5-day Scratch Coding Camp. After the club’s pause in Fall 2023—when the leadership team dissolved—the camp became a major milestone in reviving HHWC. Not only was it the first official event back, but it was also fully student-led, kicking off a fresh chapter of youth-driven creativity and leadership.

The camp wasn’t just about learning Scratch—it was about rebuilding a community. Eric and Xiao guided students through the basics of block-based coding, helping them create animations, interactive experiments, and their very own games. More importantly, they helped reignite the HHWC spirit and laid the foundation for future STEM events led by students.

From mastering loops and variables to watching their own projects come to life, students explored coding in a way that was fun, hands-on, and meaningful. The five sessions, held between May and June, were just the beginning—and there’s much more to come from the new HHWC team.
