Over the course of 5 days, the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch held an organized 3D modeling summer camp from August 18 to August 23, 2025. The camp was taught by Jerry Yang with teaching assistance from Geeth Kandipilli, who worked together to educate students in the basics of 3D modeling in Blender with a variety of projects and teaching slides. Regular sessions began daily at 9:00am and lasted until 11:00am. Jerry also spent extra time providing homework support, answering questions, and helping many students resolve their specific technical issues.
On day 1 (August 18) , we helped students install Blender, the software used for 3D modeling, and overviewed the basics of object mode such as transforming and adding objects.

On day 2 (August 19) , we taught students the basics of edit mode such as different select modes and loop cut tools and introduced them to materials for the obstacle course project. They created a table project with edit mode.

On day 3 (August 20) , we delved further into practice with edit mode with a guided project where students created a realistic cup. Students also had the chance to finish their obstacle course project.

On day 4 (August 21), students were taught how to append objects from other projects, add image materials, and were introduced to their final project (a household room with a variety of objects). They used their skills learned so far to work on their final project and create a lamp for their environment.

On the final day (August 22), students had time to practice edit and object mode skills learned so far by working on their final project. At the end of the class, we taught them how to prepare their project for rendering by adding light sources and adjusting the camera, and helped them render a realistic image of their final project environment.
