On April 17, 2026, members of the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch partnered with the City of Sammamish to celebrate Earth Day weekend by supporting a habitat restoration project initiated by the Master Stewards of the Washington Native Plant Society.
During the three‑hour event, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, members helped establish native habitat by removing invasive plant species, mulching restoration areas, and trimming bushes at Evans Creek Preserve. Through hands‑on work and collaboration with community members, participants strengthened their connection to the environment while gaining practical skills, including techniques for preventing injury during physical labor.
