Our team organized to join the city for MLK Day of Service at Pine Lake Park on Jan.19,2026

On January 19, 2026, our team organized its members to volunteer for the City of Sammamish MLK Day of Service at Pine Lake Park. For 2.5 hours, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, members transported mulch and removed moss along the paved trail, contributing to environmental restoration efforts in the park.

Monday, January 19th, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service—a national day of service that takes place on the third Monday of January each year. The day honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and encourages Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. Lake Washington Branch members appreciated the opportunity to contribute to the Sammamish community on this meaningful day and learned to use tools such as pitchforks and tillers. It was a very impactful experience.
