Hand in Hand We Grow
Eric Huang Spoke at the AYLUS National Leadership Training Conference
AYLUS (Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States) is a national, student‑run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing youth leadership through community service, volunteer projects, and civic engagement. With over 180 branches and thousands of members nationwide, AYLUS is one of the largest youth‑led service networks in the U.S.
During his presentation, Eric introduced the two major programs currently led by the Lake Washington Branch:
Hand in Hand We Code – an online accessible learning initiative offering free educational lectures across eight subjects to the public.
Hometown Sammamish Youth Action Program – a set of hands‑on volunteer projects including habitat restoration, community cleanups, and support for social and cultural events.
Eric discussed both the successful practices that helped the branch grow quickly and the challenges the team encountered along the way. He explained how he and his members addressed these issues through collaboration, problem‑solving, and continuous reflection. His message emphasized that the branch is constantly learning, improving, and expanding its impact as it serves the community.
AYLUS Lake Washington President Eric Huang spoke at the AYLUS National Leadership Training Conference on August 31, 2025, joining eight student leaders from across the country who presented at the event. His participation highlighted the strong early achievements of the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch, which earned the most “New Branch of the Month” awards of any branch during its first year.
